WILDLIFE RECREATION AREAS

HENDERSON-SLOUGHS WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA

Consists of Sauerherber Refuge, which is a 1,775 acre waterfoul refuge where up to 30,000 Canadian geese and 10,000 ducks winter annually, and Jenny Hole-Highland Creek, the state's largest Great Blue Heron rockery. The Sauerherber  Refuge has observation platforms open year round. The area is located 15 Miles North oF Morganfield on State Route 360 in Morganfield, KY 42437.

HIGGINSON-HENRY WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA

The 5,424-acrea area provides a variety of public attractions including: camping, hunting,10 miles of hiking trails, 18 miles of roads, fishing and picnicking. Located on State Route 56 East in Morganfield, Kentucky 42437.

JOHN JAMES AUDUBON BIRDING TRAIL

Union County is part oF a 60-mile trail starting at the John James Audubon Museum and Nature Center in Henderson, Kentucky that includes sloughs, wooded areas and the 1,775-acre waterfoul refuge. A list of birds likely seen include the Bald Eagle, Malard, Scarlet Tanger, Red-Headed Woodpecker, Eastern Kingbird, and many more.

LEE K. NELSON WILDLIFE VIEWING AREA & OUTDOOR LEARNING LAB

Facilities include a prairie, the Forest, an old home site, a levee, wetlands, an oxbow river and a pier. Learning lab is used for art classes, biology classes and field day events for students. Located on State Route 56 East in Morganfield,  Kentucky 42437

MAUZY LAKE

The 85-acre lake contains populations of grass pickerel, largemouth, crappie, channel catfish, bluegill, green sunfish,  redear sunfish, yellow bullhead and warmouth. There are two boat launching areas available. Mauzy Lake is located on the Higginson Henry Wildlife Management Area approximately six miles east of Morganfield on Highway 56.

MOFFIT LAKE CAMPGROUND & RECREATION AREA

50-acre lake and camping area. Facilities include electricity, water, dump station, flush toilets, showers, grocery & ice, playground & picnic area, beach, boat launch and fishing. The area has three rental cabins. Located at 37 8 Moffitt Lake Road in Morganfield, Kentucky 42437

LITTLE STURGIS MOTOPLEX

Fun, Safe, and Exciting!  1.2 mile lighted Motocross track for all levels and ages with a 40 gate start. There is a huge

RENAISSANCE CORNER

The Renaissance Corner is the newest addition to Morganfield's Downtown Renaissance Area. The new amphitheater is the host oF many events. The largest Festival, The Corn Festival, is held each September and fills not only the park but also all of downtown Morganfield. Special concerts "Alive After 5:00" are held once a month on Friday evenings each summer month filling downtown with good music, great food, and high spirits. With sound, lights, dressing room, and restrooms available, many new events will be added yearly.
